Buy Back Eatonville
Eatonville is not just a town — it's a legacy. Founded in 1887 by formerly enslaved people, it stands as one of the first self-governing African American municipalities in the nation. Today, we launch a bold initiative to reclaim that legacy.
The Challenge
Why Buy Back Eatonville?
Over time, outside investment and rising property values have dramatically shifted ownership in Eatonville. Black ownership has been reduced to approximately 40%, threatening the very identity of this historic community.
Without intentional action, long-standing residents risk being displaced from the community their ancestors built. The Buy Back Eatonville campaign is our response — a comprehensive strategy to reclaim, rebuild, and preserve.
